At Stokedman Studios, we’re more than just designers and fabricators—we’re adventurers, problem solvers, and creators who live and breathe the lifestyles we build for. Our passion for sailing, vanlife, and off-grid living has given us first-hand insight into the need for durable, high-performance, and custom-made solutions for those who explore the world by land and sea.
Eric has always had a mind for engineering, problem-solving, and all things electrical—constantly taking apart electronics, fixing broken devices, and making a few sparks along the way from a young age. With a background in software engineering and a hands-on approach to fabrication, he thrives on designing cutting-edge solutions using 3D printing, CNC machining, and carbon fiber artistry. He bought his first sailboat in 2016 without ever having set foot on one and taught himself to sail through trial, error, and a whole lot of YouTube. After outfitting his second boat for long-term cruising, he sailed down the Pacific Coast to Mexico, where he spent years immersed in the sailing community. Living on the water meant constantly innovating, repairing, and designing custom solutions, which fueled his passion for building rugged, high-performance products. His obsession with overbuilding, durability, and precision craftsmanship ensures that every product we create is designed to thrive in demanding environments—whether at sea or on the road.
Her love for travel sparked a deep curiosity about diverse cultures, landscapes, and lifestyles, leading her to visit over 30 countries in her 20s before crossing paths with Eric through their shared passion for adventure. Together, they sailed across the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii—an experience that reinforced the need for intelligent, space-efficient, and durable solutions for life on the water. Before settling on Vancouver Island, they spent years alternating between life aboard their sailboat in Mexico and extended overland travel in self-built camper vans, gaining first-hand experience in the unique challenges of off-grid living. Nathalie has always been drawn to creative problem-solving and strategic design, shaping brands and businesses with the same attention to detail and functionality that Eric brings to product development. With a background in graphic design and brand strategy she ensures that Stokedman Studios stays focused on innovation, quality, and growth.
With a deep appreciation for smart design and functional innovation, Eric and Nathalie set out to fill the gaps in the market for high-quality, purpose-built products that support sailors, vanlifers, and off-grid explorers. What started as a few custom-built marine and van life components quickly evolved into a full fledged fabrication studio—combining state-of-the-art 3D printing, CNC machining, and carbon fiber artistry to create rugged, performance-driven solutions.
Beyond our well-known Starlink modifications, we have the infrastructure, equipment, and expertise to produce high-precision car-bon fiber components for marine and off-grid applications. With 3D scanning capabilities, we can design and fabricate custom solutions with exceptional accuracy. Whether it’s carbon fiber dodgers, bow-sprits, CNC-machined companionway doors, or custom tables, our focus is on creating lightweight, durable composites built to with-stand the elements.
While sailing offshore, we elied on satellite communication devic-es like Garmin inReach and Iridium GO to stay connected. But the
arrival of Starlink has revolutionized off-grid connectivity for sailors
and overlanders alike. Our Starlink Gen 2 flat-mount system and 12V conversion were born out of necessity during our own road trip through Mexico and a full sailing season with Starlink onboard. This led to our dedicated Starlink product lineup, making high-speed internet accessible, efficient, and power-conscious for boaters, vanlifers, and off-grid adventurers—just one of the many ways we design solutions that enhance life on the move.
We’ve begun transforming a Mercedes Sprinter into the ultimate adventure rig not just a home on wheels, but a fully equipped mobile studio where we can keep designing, building, and creating while on
the road. Every element of the build is being carefully engineered with the same approach we bring to our client projects: combining ultralight materials, state-of-the-art technology, and rugged function-ality to push what’s possible in a van conversion.
This rig will showcase how innovation and craftsmanship can com-pletely reimagine off-grid living. And because we want to share the process, we’ll be documenting every step on our YouTube channel — the wins, the challenges, and the creative solutions along the way.
In 2026, we’ll be taking this project on the road as part of our America (and beyond) tour, using the van as both a home base and a traveling workshop. Along the journey, we’ll continue to innovate, collaborate, and put our gear to the ultimate test in real-world conditions.
At Stokedman Studios, we don’t just design for adventure — we live it. Whether you’re looking
for custom Starlink mounting solutions, rugged vanlife upgrades, high-performance marine enclosures, or cutting-edge off-grid technology,
we bring your vision to life with precision, pas-sion, and expertise.
